Base Camp is a popular destination, and we all agree it is the best Massanutten Resort dining experience on resort property. Base Camp is such a convenient spot year-round for families and friends to meet up. Whether you are stopping for a meal to refuel after skiing on the slopes all day, taking a break after tubing, or need to warm up by the fire with a beverage Base Camp meets all of these needs and more.
You can sit inside and warm up at Base Camp or dine outdoors which we prefer most of the year! Sit under the big tent or in the outdoor area in a comfortable sofa by the fire pits in the winter or stay cool in the mountain breeze in the summer and listen to bands on the deck. In warmer weather months you will find a party sized Connect 4 board games set that children can play with while waiting for food and watch the deer graze nearby.
Base Camp is great for families as a dining experience at Massanutten Resort because it has a range of dining options from pizza, sandwiches, burgers, great appetizers (I love the pretzels!) and steak and fish. CampFire Grill is such a fun family friendly restaurant on Massanutten Resort property. Wear casual attire and come hungry because Campfire Grill at Massanutten has so many delicious options for everyone in your family.Hand-crafted pizza, camp stove chili, chicken dumplings, steakhouse burgers, and skillets are just a few favorites served at our scenic mountain setting. Just make sure to save room for the s'mores because it is served in a cast iron skillet and is to die for good! I also recommend cornbread as an appetizer, and get a few, because you will not want to share.
I HIGHLY recommend making a reservation. The wait at Campfire Grill at Massanutten Resort is pretty long both in summer and winter. It is also recommended to eat early so you can grab a table outside too.

If you are craving a taste of down-home southern barbecue, visit Virginia Barbeque & Pizza Co.! From their very own custom-built smoker, Virginia BBQ and Pizza at Massanutten Resort offers mouthwatering wood-smoked chicken, pork, and ribs accompanied by delicious, traditional southern sides like fried mac. There is not a ton of seating at the restaurant, and it gets pretty crowded year-round. You will eat a meal there and understand why Its packed. We leave Virginia BBQ and Piza in a food coma and dreaming about the delicious food.
