We typically go to Massanutten Resort in the winter to enjoy the mountain tubing and winter sports, but we have recently visited Massanutten Resort in summer, and we all agreed that it is now a year-round favorite family destination after all of the summertime fun we had at Massanutten in June/July.
If you are looking for a mountain getaway and destination in Virginia, I highly recommend Massanutten Resort for the whole family. There are endless opportunities for family fun, and we had the best trip. Do We Need Tickets for Family Adventure Park?
Yes, you do need to have tickets and pay for the activities inside of the Family Adventure Park. You can purchase the tickets for the Family Adventure Park at the park the day of during your visit. You do not need to purchase tickets for the Family Adventure Park summer activities the same way you book ahead for winter activities.
What is the Best Time to Go to the Family Adventure Park?
The Family Adventure Park hours and days of operation do change at times so checking on their Facebook page is key! We went to the Family Adventure Park on a Friday right when it opened and had a great time, and it was not busy!

What Activities Can My Family Do in the Family Adventure Park?
Summer Tubing at Family Adventure Park Massanutten
Summer Tubing features two lanes that are 600 feet in length and offer a drop of 120 vertical feet. If you loved winter tubing at Massanutten this is such a fun way to experience the same experience in shorts and a tank top!
Summer tubing is open from April - October each year as long as the weather is cooperative!
The summer tubing lines are pretty much nonexistent, so this is a fun way to zip down the mountain without having to wait.
Must be 36 inches tall to do the summer tubing at Massanutten Resort.
What is the Cost of Summer Tubing the Family Adventure Park?
Summer tubing costs 10$ for 2 rides or $14 for 4 rides. The lines move so much more quickly during summer tubing at the Family Adventure Park and you can easily do 4 rides in a short period of time.
2. Kids Adventure Course at Family Adventure Park Massanutten
The Massanutten Resort Family-friendly Adventure Park Kids' Adventure Course was hands down my kids favorite part of our summer trip. The Kids Adventure zip lines Course is geared for ages 12 and under. This Family Adventure Park adventure course is no easy feat with its burma bridge, log crossing, swinging vine bridge, net traverse, and a 100-foot zipline.
The staff were available and close by if kids needed assistance on the adventure course while in the Family Adventure Course, but my kids felt so independent to navigate it on their own. The Kids Adventure Course combo tickets we purchased for the boys came with two course completions which was perfect for them - but they would have done the adventure course for hours and hours.
Kids must be between 50 - 200 lbs to complete the adventure course.

The cost of the adventure course is 18$ for two trips around. This is truly a must do activity if your children are adventurous and like to climb and problem solve.
3. Rock Climbing Wall - Family Adventure Park Massanutten
Have kids that like to jump or to climb? Mine like to jump off of our sofa and furniture at home WWE style, so I knew this rock-climbing wall at the Family Adventure Park at Massanutten would be a huge hit! The rock-climbing wall at Massanutten Resort are the newest Adventure Park installations. The Climbing Wall features 16’-30’ climbs are perfect for adventurous children and the staff are right there for help and support.
Climbers must be between 50-250 lbs to complete this activity.
4. Gem Mining at Family Adventure Park Massanutten Mining Company
My boys LOVE Gem Mining and the setup is in such a fun spot to see the older children and adults zip line by. while at the gem mining location in the Family Adventure Park. We got a large bag, Motherlode, and let the 3 boys split it and they all walked away with tons of awesome gems.
What is the Cost of Gem Mining in the Family Adventure Park at Massanutten?
You have three options for Gem Mining bags: Pay Dirt | $10, Lucky Strike | $14 & Motherlode | $25. If you have multiple small children and want to keep the cost down, allow them to split the large bag.
5. Zip Lining at Family Adventure Park
Zip lining is recommended for no younger than 7 years old. This is why the adventure course makes a perfect alternative to the mega zip as there is a smaller zip line available to try first! Zip lining is open for those 70-250 lbs and is a fun way to experience Massanutten Resort from above!

One ride on the mega zip line at The Massanutten Resort Family Adventure Park is 18 dollars and two rides is 30$.
6. Playland Inflatable Bounce Houses at Family Adventure Park
Your little one must be between 32-44 inches to bounce at the family adventure park. There was not a Massanutten Resort staff monitoring this activity at the Family Adventure Park but an hour is plenty of time and my toddler was able to jump while big brothers did the adventure course and rock climbing. As a parent you can see all of these activities from one spot, so it makes it easy to manage everyone at once.
What is the Cost of the Bounce House at the Family Adventure Park Massanutten?
You pay 10$ and they can jump for an hour.
7. Quick Flight at Family Adventure Park
Quick Flight is located on the same activity as the rock climbing wall. Quick Flight allows you to experience a 30’ feet of heart-pumping plunge in a free fall sensation.

The Mega Combo Family Adventure Park Tickets include 1 mega zip and 4 summer tubing rides. If you pay for these separately, they cost 34$ and the Mega Combo Ticket is 30$.
Kids Adventure Combo Family Adventure Park Tickets
The Kids Adventure Combo Tickets come with 2 tips around the kids adventure course and 4 summer tubing rides which individually would cost 34$ and the combo ticket is 28$ saving 4$. If you have multiple children this adds up, so I recommend buying the kids adventure combo tickets.

Regal Vistas are Massanutten Resorts newest housing option and we really enjoyed our stay there as well. Regal Vistas are the newest lodging and housing options at Massanutten Resort. This private, gated community is home to an outdoor pool, picnic area, and workout facility which will impress any visitor and guest.
Each vista / house option in the Regal Vistas section at Massanutten Resort houses 2 sides that can be separated with two different groups of renters, or the vista can be rented together and opened by a cojoining door between the two sides. We rented one side of the Regal Vista and it was plenty of space for our family of 5 with two bedroom units and plenty of space to relax with comfortable accommodations. This luxury experience style housing at Massanutten Resort was great for us to have space to relax after a busy day at the ski area and the water park! The dedicated pre-arrival concierge was an awesome amenity to ask resort questions and help us plan an agenda during our trip to Massanutten Resort!

These condos can be used as one spacious four-bedroom condo, or separated into two two-bedroom condos, with full privacy.
