It's a great option if you want to enjoy tubing even when natural snow isn't available. Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre offers a unique snow tubing experience year-round. Unlike traditional snow tubing parks, Liberty Mountain uses a synthetic snow surface that mimics the slippery feel of snow, making it accessible even when natural snowfall is scarce. The centre features different tubing lanes with varying degrees of thrill, catering to both beginners and seasoned tubers. Visitors can enjoy gentle slopes that provide scenic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, making it an ideal destination for families and adventure seekers alike looking to enjoy winter fun regardless of the season.

The park features multiple lanes and a conveyor belt lift to take you back up the hill effortlessly. Massanutten Resort is a 6,000-acre resort nestled in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia.  It is the most beautiful setting for a fun winter weather family vacation. If you are looking for a Virginia based mountain getaway, I highly recommend Massanutten Resort.  There are endless opportunities for family fun, and we had the best trip to Massanutten Resort. These Massanutten Resort family winter activities were our favorite options while staying on resort property.    Snow tubing at Massanutten is not just for children or families. People of all ages will love sliding down the 16 lanes. The snow tubing lanes are 900 feet in length and drop of 120 vertical feet.  There is no age requirement for Massanutten snow tubing. The height requirement for snow tubing is 36 inches.The snow tubing at Massanutten Resort is not limited to a specific number of turns, but a 90 minute time slot. If your group or family wants to go a lot, be ready to go with your tube at the beginning of your time slot and tube your way down for the entire 90 minutes!  The date for snow tubing opening at Massanutten Resort varies each year and is weather dependent but is typically late November to early December and closes Mid to late March. You will want to check website and the social media pages at Massanutten Resort regularly as they update on closings, delays and conditions regularly for guests. Snow tubing at Massanutten Resort is 30$ per person during the week and 40$ per person on the weekend and WORTH EVERY PENNY! Buy tickets for tubing here.

  • Tubing hill Features: Long tubing runs, night tubing sessions, and nearby amenities such as dining and lodging. The snow tubing lanes are 900 feet in length and drop of 120 vertical feet.  

  • There is no age requirement for Massanutten snow tubing.  The minimum height requirement for snow tubing is 36 inches.  Your child has to sit in their own tube, but you can tie your tube in front of theirs and go down together!  My youngest child was 3 when he went tubing for the first time at 38 inches and the whole family had a BLAST!

  • Regal Vistas are Massanutten’s newest lodging and housing options and are jaw droppingly stunning. The private, gated community Regal Vista feel for Massanutten Resorts guests will make you want to stay forever. Regal Vistas at Massanutten Resort was by far my favorite place to stay while on Massanutten Resort property with my family. Woodstone Meadows is an option in the Valley located really close to the Woodstone Meadows golf course. Woodstone Meadows is a great lodging choice for those who are staying with larger groups and want to book an entire floor or building rather than being spread out around the Massanutten Resort. The condo’s at Woodstone Meadows Massanutten Resort valley condos are four-bedroom condos sleeping up to 12 people. These condos can be used as one spacious four-bedroom condo, or separated into two two-bedroom condo, with full privacy. These delicious dining and food options will be sure to exceed your dining expectations and will give you options based on price and type of food during your stay at Massanutten Resort.  

3. Bryce Resort

  • Location: Basye, VA (about 2 hours from DC) 1982 Fairway Dr, Basye, VA 22810

  • Description: Bryce Resort's tubing park provides a fun-filled experience with well-groomed lanes and beautiful mountain views. It's an ideal spot for families and groups looking for a day of winter fun. Bryce Resort provides a family-friendly tubing experience with designated kiddie tubing area and lanes for children. The slopes are gentle, making it perfect for kids to enjoy tubing at their own pace.
